Undebtify Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Bitsprawl LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use the Undebtify mobile application ("Undebtify," or the "App"). This policy is specific to the App — it is separate from, and does not cover, the general bitsprawl.com website, which has its own Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. Your password is hashed and never stored or visible to us in plain text.

Financial Information (via Plaid)

To provide Undebtify's core debt payoff features, you connect your bank and credit card accounts using Plaid Inc. ("Plaid"), a third-party financial data platform. When you link an account, we receive from Plaid:

  • Account and institution names, types, and balances
  • Transaction history
  • Credit limits, interest rates, minimum payments, and due dates, where available

Access is read-only — Undebtify cannot move money, make payments, or otherwise change your accounts. We never receive or store your bank login credentials; those are handled directly between you and Plaid. Plaid's own handling of your data is governed by Plaid's End User Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to review.

Biometric Authentication

If you enable Face ID or Touch ID to unlock the App, that authentication happens entirely on your device through Apple's own frameworks. We never receive, transmit, or store your biometric data — the App only receives a yes/no result confirming the device unlocked successfully.

Analytics

We use PostHog, a product analytics service, to understand how the App is used and to diagnose problems. When you sign in, we associate your analytics activity with your account by sending PostHog your user ID and email address. We track:

  • Account actions — sign in, sign up, sign out, and account deletion
  • Security settings — enabling or disabling Face ID / Touch ID
  • Bank linking — starting, completing, cancelling, or failing to link a bank account; a successful link includes the name of the institution you connected (e.g. "Chase"), and a failed link includes an error description
  • Unlinking a bank account
  • Standard app-usage events (e.g. app opened) automatically collected by PostHog

We do not track which screens you view or where you tap within the App. Analytics data is processed by PostHog (hosted in the United States) and is used only to improve Undebtify.

Advertising and Cross-App Tracking

Undebtify does not use advertising SDKs. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or share your information for advertising purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate the App's core features — tracking linked accounts, transactions, and generating a debt payoff plan
  • Authenticate you and keep your account secure
  • Send account-related communications, such as password reset emails
  • Maintain and improve the App
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Supabase, a hosted database and authentication platform, encrypted in transit and at rest. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, though no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal or financial information. We share information only with:

  • Plaid: to establish and maintain your linked account connections
  • Supabase: our database, authentication, and hosting provider
  • PostHog: our product analytics provider (see "Analytics" above)
  • Legal authorities: if required by law or valid legal process
  • Successors: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

6. Data Retention and Deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the App (Settings → Delete Account). Deleting your account immediately and permanently removes your profile, linked accounts, transaction history, and payoff plans from our systems. This action cannot be undone.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal information (also available directly in the App)
  • Object to or restrict processing of your information
  • Request a copy of your information in a portable format

8. Children's Privacy

Undebtify is intended for users 18 years of age and older, consistent with the financial account access it requires. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
